Ramanathaswamy Temple is Lord Shiva’s famous Hindu temple located on the island of Rameswaram in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. This island and its temple got such a name because, Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva when he returned from Sri Lanka with his godess Seetha. For expiating his sin of killing Ravana, Lord Rama made this worship on Lord Shiva. Lord shiva of this temple is named as Jyotirlinga.
This is considered as one of the holiest palces in South India for Hindus.

Ramanathaswamy temple is one of the famous tourist places in India. While Visiting this temple, prepare yourself to get wet. Because, After getting bath in the sea we will enter into the temple. There are 22 wells inside the temple and priest will shower you with all those well water. These wells are called as theerthas and getting bath with 22 theerthas is beleived as great luck.

There is a special prayer of Lord parvathi on every friday. The temple is famous for its Corridor. The Corridor of Ramanathaswamy temple is world’s third famous corridor. The whole round of the corridor is 2 k.m. Each and every pillar in the corridor shows the grand architecture.

The temple is maintained well and is a symbol of spiritual divine. Cameras and Phones are not allowed inside the temple. There are local people with cameras to take photos.
